Droughtmaster National (DN.) is one of the longest running bull sales, having sold every year since 1959, as the venue for Droughtmaster Society members to offer the best of their bulls for sale. Presently 90 studs with a combined registered cow herd of 10,000 cows enjoy current vendor status.

Over the years, the sale has seen many highlights, prices as high as $150,000 for a stud sire, but the majority of bulls sell in the $2,500 to $7,000 range. The 2018 sale had a clearance of 89% with 438 bulls sold, of these 216 sold for $6,000 or less. A complete or high clearance rate indicates a vote of confidence by commercial cattle producers that vendors are producing an animal the market requires. From this sale bulls go to WA, NT, NSW & QLD.

The sale prides itself in offering large numbers of quality bulls to suit all budgets, backed by unmatched assurances and values, provided to ensure the utmost in purchaser staisfaction. Each year the bar is lifted little by little to ensure the DN.  is a sale not to be missed by serious beef producers.

Bulls offered at the DN. sale are backed by the follwing vendor and society assurances:

  • The Societys' Performance appraisal system that over time has earned the vendor and society assurances.

  • Current Vaccinations for 3 day, tick fever and 5 in 1

  • All bulls meet the Droughtmaster Society "Standard of Excellence"

  • Volume Buyers (5 or more bulls) are eligible for generous freight rebates to assist in getting their purchases home

  • Outside Agents are eligible for a 4% rebate for introducing non-member purchasers to the sale.

DN. Sale is also a great chance to catch up with old friends firstly at the "Drinks with Droughties" on the Monday evening preceding the sale, relax and enjoy this atmosphere that continues throughout the two days.
